Cassandra was a book written in 1983 discussing the events of the fall of Troy through the eyes of Cassandra a young woman who refused Apollo god of the sun he curses her with the gift of being able to predict the future but no one is going to believe her. Throughout her story she is met with a lot of adversity whether it be from her own people where she begins to see that women are more so pawns then people in the eyes of men, whether that'd be for their own carnal desires or as trophies such in the case of Helen of Troy. A lot of the themes and emotions both we and Cassandra feel throughout the book are a hopelessness, confusion, dread and love. Author Christa Wolf was able to weave this tale of what was a simple and shamefully killed character and gave her depth, gave her
House of Names was a retelling of the Oresteia story going into much more detail discussing the events of Oresteia not just through Orestes but through Electra and Clytemnestra, it gives the themes of loneliness when Orestes is the only one left because his mother is dead and Electra had practically left him. It was written in 2017 by Colm Tóibín and it was mostly contained to the events of Oresteia with a few taking place before.
The Lost Book of the Odyssey is a set of short taking comprising the story of the Odyssey, these changed how we viewed Odysseus and gave each other much more depth, some of which included instead of his wife tricking the suitors with the unraveling of thread it instead it's changed to Penelope being dead which is a drastic departure it makes Odysseus seem more relatable, having to cope with the loss and deal with seeing his ghost. It was written in 2007 by author Zachary Mason.
Circe which was written by Madeline Miller and it entails the Odyssey except it's through the eyes of Circe a Demi-god, whom Odysseus had stayed with on the island for a year as he repaired his ship, there's so much more, like the drama from former lovers such as former lovers such as Galucus
